Simtec Systems has partnered with Samsung, Clear Channel and ADR to develop an innovative media information and advertising system for the Aeroporto di Roma.
Called ScreenFLITE, but known as 'Le Chandelier', the system is essentially a digital sculpture, that comprises of 12 moveable LED screens, that can be arranged to form elaborate patterns or 'dances'.
Operators are able to sync the media content with the screens' movements, while the rotations can also be programmed individually to create a dynamic sculpture that offers unlimited display options.
ScreenFLITE is ntended for use in large open leisure and retailtainment spaces, including museums and airport terminals, and is designed to elicit strong emotional responses from the audience through the interactivity and immediacy of the display. "We instinctively look at moving objects wherever they appear in our field of view," said Bernd Kaufmann, CEO and owner of Simtec.
"ScreenFLITE takes advantage of this effect and puts advertisement, information and messages in motion. That is why it is a one of a kind eye-catcher for people passing by," Kaufmann added.
